Members of the Board Of Directors or their designated agent(s) will monitor the weather and other conditions on "The Weather Network" website using the Del Dios, CA area (92127) to determine if conditions at the rink will prevent games from safely being played: www.theweathernetwork.com/us/weather/california/del-dios.
A league-wide announcement regarding the official play/do not play decision will be made by 1:00pm on game days. If any cancellation criterion is met, all games will be cancelled, even if the forecast indicates a game or two could likely still be played.
The SDFHL game cancellation criteria include:
- Active rain at the 1:00pm announcement deadline (rink can require up to three hours to safely dry)
- The forecast indicates a probability of precipitation greater than 50% in at least three of the five scheduled games
- Any other weather-related issues that the Board judges to constitute unsafe playing conditions (heat, fire, hurricane, or any other such conditions)
